The BMW i8 - New York Motorexpo Magazine
For each Motorexpo a magazine is produced featuring: the cars on display at the show (the 'show stars'), editorial pieces, what's on at the show, retail and dining offerings as well as adverts.
This year I put together the New York Magazine, 12,000 of which are distributed at the show. Part of this was writing the editorial pieces for the magazine, this i8 piece being one of them.
The article is written for the American market and, as a result, had to be given the all-clear by BMW of North America. As they pay for the priviledge of having the editorial there's a fine line between pleasing the manufacturer and not insulting your audience. BMW were happy with the piece and it went down well with visitors so I'm pleased to have written a successful piece for an American audience.
The Lexus LFA - an article featured in the London and New York Motorexpo Magazines.
This article is the piece featured in the London magazine. I had to revise the piece slightly for the American market, taking into account Americanisms (gas, trunk etc) as well as cultural references like Jeremy Clarkson. (Thankfully, Jay Leno was also a fan of the car so it wasn't too tricky to make a switch.)
The article had to be approved by Lexus in both the UK and the US and it was a good experience amending a completed piece to suit a different audience.
Maserati Ghibli Article for Motorexpo Magazine - featured in both the London and Toronto editions.
This article was approved by Maserati in the UK, Canada and Italy and went through without any amendements (apparently a Motorexpo first!).
Ford Mustang Article written for the New York Motorexpo Magazine.
Ford were very pleased with this article written for the Mustang's 50th anniversary. The Mustang's impact on modern day culture made this a fun piece to write.
A look at the expansion of Infiniti for the Motorexpo Magazine - featured in the London and Toronto magazine.
Recruiting Graduates for Small Businesses - Entrepreneur Handbook
A B2B article written to encourage SMEs to hire graduates. I wrote this article on behalf of the MD Nick Guy and offered some simple but perhaps overlooked points on why graduates can make great employees for small businesses.
