A bit about the Witlr guides

The top tips guide to finding your perfect Graduate Job, Placement or Internship was the first guide I wrote for Witlr. We wanted to get our guides into university careers services to make more students aware of Witlr - we were an entirely unknown entity. 

We offered the guides to universities and were pleased with the positive reaction and uptake. Careers advice for students is a very crowded market and relationships run fairly deep between large graduate recruitment companies (Target, Milkround etc) and the careers services. So for numerous universities around the UK to feature our guides at the first time of trying was a good result.

I intended to position ourselves apart from other guides that were available; nothing daunting, weighty or boring, just something that was easy and enjoyable to read but that offered enough memorable 'pearls of wisdom' to be of value.

The guides hit the mark with both careers advisers and students and this success led to me writing the rest of the guides featured in this portfolio. They became the hub of our online advice centre which was accompanied by a blog (examples of which can be found on this site) offering further tips and funnier, shareable content. I also wrote a weekly newsletter brimming with useful content and links to our blog and guides to keep users engaged.

This guide played a major part in established the tone used to to talk to our student users. There is so much advice out there for students but I think I suceeded in offering something a bit different. This was echoed by careers services who gave the guides great feedback - saying they offered straightforward, honest and memorable advice. We also received praise from students at graduate fairs; saying they particularly enjoyed our emails, blogs and guides - a ringing endorsement if there ever was one.
